What I've been doing since December

Hello Loves!

I feel like it has just been so long since I posted. Sorry about that.

I recently have been thinking about changing up my posts. Moving from just make-up to lifestyle. I am diving into wedding planning, mommy hood, and life in general. I dont have much time, or money for collecting, and writing about just make up.

Eddy and I had our little Miss in January of 16. She has been such a blessing for our relationship and lives. I have managed to book a few Prom, Special Events, and Wedding gigs since, but it has certainly slowed down.

Too Faced 2016 Holiday Collection review

Alright! I have been super lazy for like a year. Also a ton of life updates. Which has hindered me from being able to post.

However, it is Holiday time and that means limited edition make up!

Below are pictures, and my take on the Too faced Holiday collection!

First I have to say the packaging is amazing! So cute! I have a slight obsession with Paris France so I was all about this collection.

I am going to start with the Sephora Exclusive. This is the Grand Palais pallet. Please keep in mind in these swatches that I have olive toned skin. These colors will show up more prominent on a fair skinned person. This also hinders my opinion of the product. All swatches were done without primer. For shadows that will make them show up more.

The Grand Palais
Only available at Sephora
$58.00

First off so cute! Its a really great thing to get everything you really need to complete a face in one box. Shadow insurance is always a great addition to get.  I use to not be a huge fan of Better than sex mascara, but its growing on me. I like that they included a melted gloss. I have a huge BUT...this particular color of melted peony while a lovely light pink is given in every thing. I believe I got this color in a travel size from a gift with purchase from ulta, I got one in my ipsy bag, and I also think its included in other sets. I would have love to seen a darker color for the holidays. It would also give us loyal make up buyers something different.

HUGE Complaint! I hate that they do not include mirrors is any of their pallets. It makes them much less travel friendly. 6 matte shades. Two of which are creme colored high lights. The rest are shimmer colors or extreme glitter shades. Two blushes, a highlight, and a bronzer. First off the matte colors are great. We all know too faced does a great job with matte shades. The less glittery shades are lovely. I have a huge issue however, with the bold colored shades. The green, blue, purple, and pink shades. They are so glittery that when you try to apply them you are gonna look like a pixie. The fall out is unbelievable! This is too the point that I doubt I will ever put a brush in them.

I actually really enjoy all four of the face colors. The blushes are not as strong as  I would like. The highlight has some gold to it, and is really pretty. The bronzer in this has some shimmer. It is not a matte bronze like last year. From a collector stand point that makes me happy!

Shadow swatches in order from pallet.

On to the Grand Chateau collection
Available at Sephora, ulta and toofaced.com
$49.00

Three small pallets and a mascara.

Again no mirrors added into these. I did want to note one thing! That each one has a matte creme highlight color.  This made me very happy!!

These three small pallets have a two and from gift tag printed on the back. So if you buy this, and decide to break them up for friends it's a great idea. Even for stocking stuffers for the ladies in your family.

My least favorite the pink pallet. The colors are OK. There are no mattes in this! How are you suppose to transition your eye look. I would have liked to see three mattes and three shimmers like in the next one. Also they are calling this a blush... it is a bronzer. Get your life too faced!

The blue pallet. Three mattes and three shimmers. Perfect combo a row of each. something we see in Lorac pallets. This blush is also really sheer on me. I do like the shade. It is the most appropriate for fall/winter out of the entire collection.

This one is the Black Pallet and probably my favorite. The blush is really sheer but it is doable and you can build it up.  I like that they included mattes, and shimmer. I wish the black with purple glitter had more of a pop of purple glitter. Its hard to differentiate between that and the black included in the one.

If I was going to choose which one I like more I would say the Grand Palais. There is lots of product there. You can complete an entire face. I still think last years everything nice pallet was a knock out, and still much better in quality than both of these.

I am including a stock photo of last years palette that I love!!! Just so you can see the different.

Not available for sale, did retail for $56.00

Happy make up shopping!
